  2.  U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY DIGITAL DATA SERIES DDS-2

  4.  This CD-ROM contains digital representation of the Geologic                     
  5.  Map of Nevada, 1978, compiled by John H. Stewart and John                       
  6.  E. Carlson of the USGS.  The original map was published at a                    
  7.  scale of 1:500,000 and was split at latitude 39 degrees N.                      
  8.  into two sheets.  These data sets are designed for use by                       
  9.  geographic information system (GIS) users for spatial                           
  10.  analysis applications, but they should be useful for                            
  11.  computer-aided mapping applications as well.  They are                          
  12.  provided in three formats: ASCII, which is 10 MB of data;                       
  13.  USGS's Digital line Graph-3  (DLG-3) Optional, which is 25                      
  14.  MB of data; and Environmental Systems Research Institute's                      
  15.  ARC/INFO version 5.0.1 EXPORT, which is 37 MB of data.
